How does TAS Tax LLC’s virtual CPA model work—from first text to e-filed return?

  1. Text or contact TAS Tax LLC to get started.

  2. We invite you to our secure Intuit Link client portal to sign the engagement letter, complete a short questionnaire, and upload documents.

  3. We prepare your return and keep you updated along the way.

  4. We review results with you (video/phone/text), answer questions, and discuss tax-saving opportunities.

  5. You e-sign Form 8879 and we e-file. You’ll receive confirmation plus a PDF copy in your portal, along with next-step guidance (W-4 tweaks, estimates, planning).

What documents do I need, and how do I securely upload them?
Your list depends on your situation. We provide a tailored checklist in the portal and you can upload everything through Intuit Link (encrypted, secure). For sensitive items (SSNs, IDs), please use the portal rather than email or standard text.

Can I drop off documents in person or do a hybrid virtual/in-person process?
Yes—by appointment for clients near Dillsburg/Harrisburg, PA. Tell us what you prefer and we’ll set up a hybrid or drop-off option.

What’s the typical turnaround time once I’ve provided all documents?
Most routine individual returns are completed within two business days after we receive everything. More complex work (multi-state, rentals, small business, estate/trust) may take longer—we’ll give you a clear timeline before we start and keep you posted.

Do you prepare returns for individuals, sole proprietors/LLCs, rentals, investments, and crypto?
Yes—individuals and families, Schedule C (sole proprietors/LLCs), rentals, investments/1099-B, and crypto reporting.

Can you handle multi-state returns (e.g., PA + MD/NY/NJ) and local PA taxes?
Yes. We also prepare Pennsylvania local EIT/LST filings. (Local returns usually can’t be e-filed; we’ll prepare them and provide easy filing instructions.)

Do you provide year-round tax planning, W-4 reviews, and quarterly estimate guidance?
Yes—stand-alone or bundled with tax prep. We help you dial in withholdings, avoid surprises, and plan cash flow.

Do you help with IRS/state notices and audits?

Do you prepare estate/trust (Form 1041) and inherited-IRA related filings?
Yes. We handle Form 1041 and provide PA inheritance tax advisory and form preparation, plus guidance around inherited-IRA reporting.

Pricing, value, and comparisons

Do you offer upfront, transparent pricing or quotes before we start?
Yes. You’ll receive clear pricing before work begins. If scope changes, we’ll discuss and approve any updates before proceeding.

Do you offer “refund advance” loans or other financial products?
No. We don’t upsell debt products. Our focus is accurate returns, fast e-filing, and direct deposit—keeping more of your refund in your pocket.

Do you offer a “pay by refund” option during tax season?
Stay tuned. TAS Tax LLC is looking to add this payment method as an option, providing clients like you a more convenient way to get your taxes done sooner.

How do your services compare to big-box shops or DIY software?
We provide the convenience of virtual tax preparation with CPA oversight and direct access to your preparer—no call centers. You’ll get personalized guidance (Harrisburg/Central PA local tax expertise) and year-round support, without the upsells common at national chains.

Security, communication & logistics

How do you protect my data and PII, and which secure channels do you use?
We use the Intuit Link client portal for document exchange and e-signature. It’s encrypted and designed for sensitive data. Please use the portal for IDs, SSNs, and forms; email and SMS are best for general questions.

Can I text you questions during the season (and off-season)? How fast do you respond?
Yes—text is welcome year-round. Most messages receive a same-business-day reply; during peak season we’ll set clear expectations and follow up promptly.
